Burghard Riehemann
About me:
Born on: 10.05.1959 in Osnabrück
I live in Osnabrück, am married to my wife Kathrin and have 3 daughters: Lena (1986), Friederike (1989) and Louisa (2005). The family also includes 2 Australian Shepherds: Jesbo (2015) and Skipper (2017). My hobbies are: my family, football, our dogs, mountain biking and I am generally interested in many different sports.
I have been managing the base in Halle for several years now.
My tasks in the base:
In recent years I have been looking after international professionals on the ATP Tour for between 15 and 35 weeks a year. These have included Illya Marchenko, Andrey Kuznetsov, Sergiy Stakhovsky, Aslan Karatsev and Radu Albot. In general I work in the professional field in close consultation with Jan de Witt. The support ranged from the Future and Challenger level to the Grand Slam tournaments all over the world.
I then dedicate the remaining time to my tasks at the base in Halle, where everything comes together:
the professional sector, the youth performance sector and the management sector. This includes the selection as well as the training and further education of our coaches.

I would especially like to highlight that our entire team is constantly striving for further development, is highly motivated, and consistently delivers excellent work.
When it comes to the players, I see myself as a kind of supervisor. This mainly involves coordinating the individual training sessions (tennis and athletic) with the responsible coaches to ensure the best possible development of the young players.
What do I want to achieve with our youth performance players, and what are the goals?
In our base, we want to work with motivated and talented players who are determined to develop their potential as athletes and individuals with us. The basic requirements for this are a passion for tennis, a high willingness to change, and the discipline to consistently meet even the most challenging demands.
Our goal is to develop self-confident and self-responsible athletes. The player must be empowered to make their own decisions and bear the consequences – both in their daily routines and in regard to their career.
Finally, we believe that only individual agreements make it possible for each player to be supported according to their personality, talents, and financial possibilities. These factors should be optimally aligned with the player's career, environment, and goals, and should flow into the collaboration between coaches and players.
